Hi, I'm Florian from Germany.
I'm currently learning game development and use itch.io to share my projects, prototypes, and progress along the way.
Most of my development happens in the evenings after work and family time. My goal is simple: build games, improve my skills, and learn something new with every project.
I see game development as a combination of many different disciplines. One of my main goals is to improve my programming skills, while also gaining experience in areas such as game design, level design, project management, and the many other aspects of creating games from scratch.
The name Iron Lamp Games is the nickname I use for my projects.
It comes from a combination of things that are part of my everyday life. I live in Germany's Ruhr region, an area shaped by industry, mining, steel, and engineering. I also live and work in a more than 120-year-old Art Nouveau house that still contains many original details from that era.
One of those details is an original lamp hanging in our dining room. Lamps are such a recognizable symbol of that period, and combined with the industrial character of the Ruhr region, the image of an old iron lamp eventually inspired the name Iron Lamp Games.
Nothing more complicated than that.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my work.
